LAKE NAKURU NATIONAL PARK
One of the most loved and most visited Park in Kenya. It is not hard to figure out why, with a lake that is world famous for being inundated with pink flamingos, so many bird species, flanked by rocky escarpments, pockets of acacia forest, a waterfall, and a cliff (Baboon Cliff – probably inspired the famous "Circle of Life" cliff where Rafiki held up Simba in the movie "Lion King") that has beautiful views of the Park and the Lake. Lake Nakuru National Park provides visitors with images tens of thousands of lesser flamingos forming a pink overlay of life that carpets the Lake Nakuru's water. The Lake has become world famous because of these birds. By the Lake shore there are huge herds of waterbucks, zebras, buffaloes, and endangered Rothschild giraffes and other herbivores like the huge black and white rhinos. Big cats, that is, lions, cheetah and leopards can also be spotted in the park and large sized pythons that inhabit the dense woodlands can often be seen crossing the road or dangling on trees. Be sure to carry a pair of binoculars and a good bird identification book for your unique wildlife and birding experience.
