Memberships

Qualifications   

1. Be in possession of a Bachelor Degree in Interior Design or any other relevant and equivalent qualification from a University recognized in Kenya
2. Has at least 2 years proven industry experience and is currently a practicing/ Consulting Interior Designer in Kenya.
3. After acquiring at least 5 years proven industry experience, may apply to upgrade to be a Professional Interior Designer In Kenya.

Chapter Eligibility Rules.

1. You shall automatically be enrolled as Graduate Interior Designer  in the Interior Design Chapter of the Association.
2. Admittance into this Chapter is in accordance with the eligibility criteria outlined in the procedures, rules and regulations of the Association.

General Eligibility Rules.

i. Admittance into ADKE Graphic Design Chapter is in accordance with the eligibility criteria outlined in the procedures, rules and regulations of the Association.

ii. As a minimum, one must fulfil the following conditions;

• Be a practitioner in any of the professional Graphic Design disciplines that make up its chapters; or
• Currently enrolled in or has graduated from academic training programmes accredited by the relevant accrediting authority and recognized as such by the Association's Education and Qualifications Committee.

Part C: Membership

• Consulting Creative/ Graphic Designer  applicant MUST possess a bachelor degree or Diploma in Graphic Design any other relevant and equivalent qualification from a university recognized in Kenya.
• Practicing and consulting Advertising, Illustrators, Art Directors, Print Media, Graphic Designers, Photographers and Visual Communicators may apply under this category.

Qualification.

1. MUST  have attained at least 7 years industry proven experience in any  field of Design, registrable under this Association  .
2. Been a Graduate Member for at least 5 continuous years in this Association or similar and relevant Association
3. Has fulfilled such other Qualification determined by the Association from time to time.

Part B: General Eligibility Rules.

i. Admittance into Student Member Chapter is in accordance with the eligibility criteria outlined in the Procedures, Rules and Regulations of the Association.

ii. As a minimum, one must fulfil the following conditions;

• A Continuing student in a College or a University accredited by the relevant accrediting authority and recognized as such by the Association's Education and Qualifications Committee; or
• In the last one year, has graduated from a College or a University recognised in Kenya.  
• Admission is by application accompanied by proof of studentship at a Diploma or Degree level.

2.  Issuance of Membership Certificate identifying you as a member who accepts the Code of Ethics and Professional Practice in Design in Kenya.

5. ADKE is currently championing legislation in the National Assembly to regulate the practice of design in Kenya. You become that Design voice
6.  The Association conducts, supports and co-hosts Professional training sessions as part of Continuous Professional Development Programme for their members.
7.  Provision of Professional Reference to any member incase it's required in due course of undertaking professional duty.

9. ADKE is an Institutional and Support partner and a Member of various National and International Entities supporting the objective of the Association and designers in Kenya.

12. At ADKE, you have the opportunity to volunteer towards helping organize it's events for membership and Leadership Development.

Part B: General Eligibility Rules.

i. Admittance into this category is in accordance with the eligibility criteria outlined in the procedures, rules and regulations of the Association.

ii. As a minimum, one must be a practitioner in any of the professional Design disciplines that make up its chapters.

Part C: Associate Membership

Persons who do not require any professional Design qualification, experience or educational attainment but must demonstrate that they have an interest in Interior Design, Graphic Design or Product Design and want to be involved and have an established working relationship with the profession

The purposes for which this Chapter is established is to promote, protect, maintain and;

a)  Support Sustainable practices in various infrastructure sub sectors in Kenya;

b)   Provide an advisory role to Government Organizations involved in delivery of Sustainable Infrastructure Projects and Programmes;

c)    Support the planning , design and delivery of sustainable, climate resilient and Safe Infrastructure in Kenya

d)   Foster an appreciation and understanding of ideas and objectives of the Chapter; promote fellowship, cooperation and a spirit of unity.

e) Co-operate with its partners and supporting Agencies for furtherance of Advocacy, Trainings and Education Awareness towards realization of the sustainable infrastructure and adopt Biophillic designs in Kenya.

f)   Improve the general advancement of the Sustainable Infrastructure Practitioners(SIPs) and its application in Kenya.
