Mercy Omollo is the current ISACA Kenya President and Board Chair. ISACA Kenya is a professional association of digital trust professionals drawn from various fields in technology including cyber security, data privacy, IT audit, IT risk with accredited worldwide certifications on the same.
She is a seasoned technology leader with over 13 years of experience in Technology Risk and Audit as an executive holding various positions over the years in the fields of governance, risk management, audits and assurance as well as business process controls improvement.
She is currently the Risk Manager (Head) at Liberty Kenya Insurance where she is responsible for overseeing the management of Enterprise Risk, IT, Information security and cyber security across the Liberty subsidiaries within the region. Prior to joining Liberty, she had worked as a Senior Consultant with Deloitte East Africa's Risk advisory (RA) practice with over five years of experience in various IT assurance and GRC advisory engagements.
She currently serves on the Kenya Red Cross Audit & Risk Committee, IIA Global Professional Certifications Board (PCB) as well as various ISACA Global Working committees. She has presented as a seasoned speaker, panellist and moderator and in various forums such as the ISACA Kenya Chapter Conferences, regional level event or joint ISACA chapter events (Uganda, Tanzania Nigeria, Namibia) and other cyber security forums such as Women in Cybersecurity, (WiCyS) East Africa.
She holds an MBA from University of London, a BSc. Business Information Technology (BBIT) from JKUAT, is a CIA, CISA, CRISC and CDPSE certifications holder.

Dr. Margaret Nyambura Ndung'u is an information, communication, and technology specialist with 28 years of experience. She has considerable experience working and consulting in the public, private, and development sectors, having worked at the community, national, regional, continental, and global levels.

Dr. Ndung'u has previously been seconded to the public sector at the national and continental levels to assist with the development and implementation of strategies and policies such as the Kenya National ICT Master Plan, Kenya National Digital Masterplan 2022-2032 (ICT Authority), Continental Internet Governance Strategy 2019-2023, and African Union Child Online Safety and Empowerment Policy 2024 (African Union Commission), among others.

Dr. Ndung'u holds a doctorate in information systems from the University of Nairobi and a Post-Doctorate Fellowship from the Tshwane University of Technology in South Africa. She has a Master of Business Administration degree in Management Science from the University, a Bachelor of Science degree in Information Sciences from Moi University, a Certificate in Media Studies and Information Management from Hamburg University, and a Certificate in Internet Governance and Cybersecurity Diplomacy from the Diplo Foundation.

Dr. Ndung'u is a member of the African Union Cyber Security Expert Group (AUCSEG), a founding member of the Network of African Women in Cybersecurity (NAWC), and a member of the United Nations Policy Network on Meaningful Access (PNMA)

She is passionate about meaningful digital inclusion in a safe and secure digital space.

Hon. John Mbadi is the Cabinet Secretary (CS) for The National Treasury and Economic Planning. Before his appointment, Hon. Mbadi had an extensive career in public service, most recently serving as a nominated Member of Parliament (MP) and the Chairperson of the Public Accounts Committee in the National Assembly.
The CS has a rich history in legislative leadership, having served as the elected MP for Suba South Constituency, Suba Constituency, and Gwassi Constituency. His experience extends to roles such as Assistant Minister in the Office of the Prime Minister and Leader of Minority in the National Assembly. Throughout his parliamentary tenure, he was a member of numerous key committees, including the House Business Committee, Liaison Committee, Budget and Appropriations Committee, Selection Committee, Appointments Committee, Public Accounts Committee, Public Investments Committee, Constitutional Implementation Committee, the Ad Hoc Committee on the Cost of Living, and the Defence and Foreign Relations Committee. Notably, he was also a member of the Legislative Taskforce responsible for drafting the Public Finance Management Act of 2012.
In addition to his political and legislative accomplishments, the CS is a seasoned finance professional with 28 years of experience. He has held the position of Accountant at the University of Nairobi and served as the Chair of Medair East Africa. Hon. Mbadi holds a Bachelor of Commerce degree with a specialization in Accounting from the University of Nairobi and is a registered member of the Institute of Certified Public Accountants of Kenya (ICPAK). His professional affiliations extend to the Architectural Association of Kenya (AAK), the Institute of Quantity Surveyors of Kenya, and the Chartered Institute of Arbitration.
Hon. Mbadi's contributions have been recognized with honours such as the Chief of the Order of the Burning Spear (CBS) and Elder of the Order of the Golden Heart of Kenya (EGH). His skills span planning, budgeting, financial analysis, accounting, economics, and community development, complemented by strong leadership, effective communication, and interpersonal skills. His areas of interest include politics, reading, and soccer.

Dr. Katherine W. Getao, EBS, is often dubbed an “ICT Elder” in Kenya, in recognition of her 40 years of service in the private sector, academia, diplomacy as well as senior government appointments. Dr. Getao currently executes consultancy assignments in the areas of Cyber Hygiene, Cyber Diplomacy and ICT Strategy and Governance. She has served as the Chief Executive Officer of the ICT Authority in Kenya, the ICT Secretary in the Office of the President and subsequently at the Ministry of ICT. During her time in government, she led the design of the Huduma Centre one-stop shops for government services as well as the integrated implementation of optical fibre in collaboration with the Roads sector. Project Manager of the NEPAD eSchools Project as well as the Director of the School of Computing and Informatics at the University of Nairobi. She has represented Kenya on UN Governmental Committees and has also served on the boards of private companies and universities. Dr. Getao is passionate about public service transformation using ICTs and the creation of industries and career opportunities for young people in the ICT Sector. Dr. Getao serves on a high-level global think tank, the Aspen Global Group, and also as a regional adviser to the Diplo Foundation.

Moses is Governance Risk and Compliance Professional with over 18 years of experience. A MBA degree holder in Strategic management from the University of Nairobi. He holds a degree in Business Management specializing in accounting from Moi University. His experience spans across Auditing, forensics, Risk management and Compliance.

He is a Certified Public Accountant (CPA-K) and a member of ICPAK, a Certified Fraud Examiner (CFE), a Certified Information Systems Auditor (CISA) (Currently serving as the Treasurer for the Kenay Chapter), a Certified Anti-Money Laundering Specialist (CAMS), a Certified ISO31000 - Lead Risk Manager and trainer among other certifications.

He started his career with Ernst & Young before joining the banking industry. He has held various leadership positions in banking which include heading an audit function, risk management and investigations and is currently the Head of Risk and Compliance at Kingdom Bank.

Esther is a Certified Human Resources Practitioner, Trainer, Author & Motivational Speaker with over 20 years of impactful experience championing workplace policies, organizational cultures and employee mental wellbeing. She is passionate and relentless about ethical leadership and has come off very boldly to address workplace challenges while providing relevant training, mentorship and empowerment sessions to leaders, employees and women across all levels. Her fearless leadership style and muscle to drive change across the corporate circles has won her global recognitions and awards. Esther is the founder and host of Conversations with Esther (CWE), a learning and empowerment platform that is transforming corporate and social circles driving Integrity, excellence and impact as core values.
Esther has come out boldly as a workplace holistic wellness trainer and champion, bringing to the table key industry players, professional bodies, influential leaders, HR professionals, managers and individuals to heIp prioritise wellness and wellbeing as a road to healthy lifestyles which translates to healthy global economies. Esther Katiba was recently (October 2023) globally recognized and conferred upon The Woman of Excellence Award by Women Economic Forum in London UK for raising a transformational voice, image and tone consistent on matters leadership, mentorship, mental health, wellness & psychological safety in the workplace.

George is a professional with a diverse background, combining expertise in Governance, Risk Management, Compliance, Audit and IT to offer assurance and advisory services to Executive Management and Board-level committees for the past 17 years across 20 Sub-Saharan Africa markets.

He is currently the Vice President at ISACA Kenya and an Information Security Governance, Risk, and Compliance Specialist in the fintech sector, focusing on digital financial assets. Previously, he held positions as Head of Risk & Compliance and MLRO at Airtel Money Kenya, as well as Internal Audit Manager for Information Systems at Britam. He holds a BSc in Computer Science, an MSc in IT (Information Security & Audit), and has earned certifications including CISA, PMP, ITIL and the IRM Certificate in Financial Services Risk Management, among others.

Mr. Musili Kivuitu is the General Manager Risk and Compliance at Liberty Life and Heritage Insurance. He is an experienced business leader with vast experience in risk, audit and finance who is passionate about assisting organizations realize their goals through strategic thinking. Mr. Kivuitu has an illustrious career cutting across the financial services, engineering, non-profit, government and health sectors. His areas of expertise include: Corporate Governance, Risk Management, Business Transformation and Planning (including digital). He is also a consultant, public speaker and trainer on these matters.

Mr. Kivuitu holds a Bachelors in Physical Sciences degree, he is certified by the Institute of Risk Management South Africa (IRMSA) and a Fellow of the Institute of Chartered Certified Accountants (ACCA).

Steve is a Partner in Deloitte’s Risk Advisory Services in East Africa. He is an Audit, Risk Management and Governance professional with over twenty years’ experience providing solutions for organizations on Internal Audit, Risk Management, Governance and Sustainability. He has served a diverse range of clients in different industries across East Africa and Europe.
Steve holds a Master’s degree in Business Administration from Strathmore Business School and a Bachelor’s Degree of Commerce (Accounting major) from the University of Nairobi. He is also a Certified Public Accountant of Kenya (CPA-K) and a Certified Information Systems Auditor (CISA). Steve is a member of ISACA, ICPAK and The Institute of Internal Auditors Inc. (IIA)

Mr. Makatiani is the CEO of Serianu Limited and Chair of the Kenya Honeynet Project Chapter. Serianu Limited is a Pan African Cyber Security consulting firm with presence in Kenya, Ethiopia, Ghana, Botswana and Nigeria. The firm provides dynamic, business focused security monitoring and analytics solutions through a combination of consulting, managed services and threat intelligence. Mr. Makatiani is currently leading a continent-wide (Nigeria, Kenya, Ghana and Ethiopia) effort to develop research-based insights on the state of cyber security in Africa. Before Serianu limited, Mr. Makatiani worked with Deloitte and Touché’ RSA security, EMC corporation and Federal Reserve Bank in Boston.
Mr. Makatiani has a strong passion for cyber security issues with an emphasis on research-based consulting. He has over 15 years’ experience in the ICT industry – focusing on ICT Strategy, Analytics, Risk and Compliance. He has led numerous engagements across the world-including Kenya, United States, Israel, Ireland, Singapore, China, Egypt and India.

Mang'oli Martin is a seasoned data analytics professional with over eight years of experience, currently leading audit automation and data analytics efforts at Safaricom PLC. As Audit Automations and Data Analytics Lead, he focuses on enhancing the Internal Audit department's efficiency by embedding advanced data solutions across the audit cycle. His expertise spans machine learning, software engineering, and data-driven IT audits, which he uses to model complex business challenges and uncover valuable insights.

Martin's career includes leadership roles and technical contributions in data governance and strategy at Co-operative Bank of Kenya and as a Data Analytics Consultant at KPMG East Africa. His projects have brought measurable impact across sectors such as telecommunications, banking, insurance, and education. Martin’s solutions integrate continuous auditing, data science, and visualization, empowering businesses to make informed, data-backed decisions.

Gilbert is a highly qualified and experienced information systems audit, risk management, information Security and data privacy professional. His expertise lies in ensuring the security and integrity of organizations' IT systems and mitigating risks associated with technology.

With a proven track record of achieving results and a comprehensive set of qualifications including Masters in Project Planning & Management, Computer Science, CISA, CISM, CRISC, CDPSE, ISO 27001 Lead Implementer, (ISC)² Cybersecurity, PRINCE2 among others, Gilbert brings a wealth of knowledge and skills to every project.

Additionally, Gilbert actively contributes to the professional community as a dedicated member of the ISACA Kenya Chapter. As the Membership Director, he engages with fellow professionals and provides leadership in shaping the chapter's strategic direction. He has played key roles in educational outreach, program management, and leadership development initiatives while at the Special Programs and Education Chapter Committees.

David Njoga has over 22 years’ experience in the practice and research in Cybersecurity Governance, Secure Digital Transformation, Cyber Diplomacy. He has worked in the Kenya Defence Forces in major IT functional roles between 2003 and 2010, and Kenya Airways Ltd between 2010 and 2012 as Business Continuity Analyst, and Eastern Africa Standby Force as IT Officer. He was the Lead Secretariat of the National Cyber Security Training Programme (NCSTP) at e-Kraal Innovation Hub. He currently serves as the Head of Cybersecurity Policy, Strategy and Standards at the National Computer and Cybercrimes Coordination Committee (NC4) Secretariat.

He is a master practitioner in frameworks and standards including ITILv4, COBIT2019, ISO 27001/2, ISO 22301, PRINCE2, ValIT and RiskIT and has undertaken several professional assignments in the region. Being passionate about teaching and capacity building, he was previously the Lead Secretariat of the National Cyber Security Training Programme (NCSTP) at e-Kraal Innovation Hub. He has also undertaken several academia and scholarly assignments at the following universities: KCA University, Jomo Kenyatta University of Science and Technology, Maasai Mara University, Jaramogi Oginga Odinga University of Science and Technology, Multi Media University of Kenya and Open University of Kenya. He’s a Mentor and Trainer at the Presidential Digital Talent Programme of ICT Authority of Kenya; Women in Cyber of Strathmore University, and the Pan-African CyberSafe Foundation. In additional, he has facilitated several workshops, seminars and conferences both locally and internationally. He has published over fifteen research papers in peer reviewed journals.

He holds Doctor of Philosophy in Information Technology, Security and Audit, Master of Science degree in IT specializing in Information Systems Security and Audit & Networking Communications and BSc Information Sciences. He has served as the joint secretary for the Ministry of Interior and National Administration’s Taskforce for developing regulations for Kenya’s Computer Misuse and Cybercrimes Act, 2018 and the Research Administrator for the Cybersecurity Technical Working Group of the Ministry of Information, Communication and the Digital Economy. He is currently the joint secretary of the National Taskforce on the Development of Cybersecurity Policy, Standard Operating Procedures and Related Legislative Instruments.

Catherine is a seasoned leader with expertise in Governance, Risk Management, Compliance, Audit, and Accounting. She currently holds the position of Co-Chair at the Institute of Risk Management (IRM) East Africa Group and serves as the Internal Audit Manager at Absa Life Assurance Kenya. Catherine earned her MBA from Mancosa Honoris University in South Africa and holds a Bachelor of Commerce degree from the University of Nairobi, Kenya. She is a Graduate member of IRM (Grad-IRM), a Certified Public Accountant of Kenya, holds a certificate in Cybersecurity, and is a Global Reporting Initiative (GRI) Certified Sustainability Professional.
Her career spans various sectors including Financial Services, Manufacturing, Investments, and Humanitarian sectors across Africa and Europe. Catherine also contributes her expertise as a board member in Kenya and the United Kingdom. She is passionate about mentoring young professionals and is actively involved with initiatives such as the Global Give Back Circle, Youth Mentors and VCs and Start Up Shujaa.

Maryanne Mwai is a Board Member at the ISACA Kenya Chapter in charge of Special Programs, she is also the Assistant Director of ICT at the Kenya National Highways Authority. She boasts of over 15 years of experience in the ICT arena.

Her current portfolio entails ICT Policy and procedures formulation and implementation, ICT Security and Infrastructure planning and operation, Data Privacy implementation. She also coordinates the IT functions for the KeNHA Board of Directors.

Maryanne holds a Master in Business Administration in Information Technology (IT) Management from the United States International University (USIU) and a Bachelor of Science in Information Science and Technology from the same University.

Maryanne has various certifications including Quality Management Systems (QMS) (ISO 9001) Lead Auditor, Information Security Management Systems (ISMS) (ISO 27001) implementor, Prince 2, among others.

Mr. Yunis Omar holds a B.Sc. in Computer Science with a Minor in Physics and Mathematics (2003) from the University of Marathwada, India, and an M.Sc. in Information Technology (2005) from the University of Madras, India. With over 18 years in ICT, he has worked across both private and public sectors, progressing through roles such as ICT Officer at I&M Bank, Head of ICT at Premier Bank, and head of ICT for East Africa Bank in Djibouti. In Kenya, he served as Deputy Director ICT at the National Police Service Commission before his June 2024 appointment as Director of Cybersecurity at the Ministry of Information, Communication, and Digital Economy. Known for his contributions to ICT projects, policies, and strategies, Mr. Omar is a member of the Computer Society of Kenya and IEEE.

Lucas is a visionary and results-driven ICT and Smart City leader with robust passion for leveraging customer-centric strategies and innovative technology solutions to drive business growth and operational excellence. He has over 12 years of experience including 4 years in senior management in the tech industry with in-extensive expertise on software development, cloud computing, smart cities, applying emerging tech and cybersecurity. He possesses an entrepreneurial mindset and a knack for nurturing executives and staff teams towards achieving groundbreaking success. Lucas holds a master’s degree in IT from UON and relevant professional certifications in IoT, Cloud computing, Data centre Facilities, application development, strategic management among others. He began his journey as a software engineer and quickly moved up the ranks to become a team lead and eventually a manager. He has successfully steered conceptualization, design, development and operationalization of key projects such as Konza National Data Center & Smart City facilities project that has attained international standards i.e. Uptime Tier III Uptime and USGC LEED Platinum certifications. Lucas led Konza Technopolis in attaining Golden Award as the “Best City Planning Project” in 2017 and 2019 by Africa Investments Forums & Awards. Further, he championed recent award for Konza Data Center on Data Security and the recognition of JITUME Digital Enablement program as the national Digital Initiative of 2024 in Digital Transformation Public Sector Awards of 2024. He is a member of ISACA, Computer Society of Kenya, Institution of Engineering Technologists and Technicians and a registered ICT professional by ICT Authority. In 2020, Lucas was awarded Head of State Commendation (HSC) by H.E. Uhuru Kenyatta following his immense contribution to the country’s ICT ecosystem. In 2023, he was nominated to represent Kenya in a 31-member global team of experts working for UN-HABITAT to develop International Guidelines for People Cantered Smart Cities. Sylvia is an Information Systems Auditor who has worked for the Government of Kenya for over 15 years. She is skilled in assessing IT governance, risk management, and security controls and promoting compliance with best practices and regulatory requirements.
In her current role at the Central Bank of Kenya (CBK), Sylvia is responsible for auditing financial systems such as Core Banking, SWIFT, RTGS and ensuring compliance with frameworks like COBIT, ITIL, ISO and the SWIFT Customer Security Controls Framework (CSCF). She also conducts investigations and IT consultancy/ assurance engagements, to ensure a strong alignment between business operations and IT capabilities.

Oscar Ongeri is an accomplished professional with extensive experience in risk management, compliance, and financial control. He began his career at Ernst & Young, LLP (Indianapolis, US), one of the Big 4 public accounting firms, where he spent over six years in the Business Risk Services practice. During this time, Oscar played a pivotal role in helping clients across North America, Asia, and Europe implement Enterprise Risk Management (ERM) systems and ensure compliance with Sarbanes-Oxley regulations.

He later served as the Global Compliance Officer and Internal Audit Director for Hurco, a multinational corporation with operations in England, Germany, France, Italy, China, the Netherlands, Taiwan, and Singapore. In this role, Oscar conducted audits and provided training to executives and senior staff across these locations, ensuring that global compliance standards were met.

Before his international assignments, Oscar spent over seven years at the Eastern and Southern Management Institute (ESAMI), where he held various roles, including trainer, controller, and Projects Officer. At ESAMI, he served client organizations across 14 countries within the COMESA and SADC regions.

Oscar also holds the distinction of being the first Financial Controller of the East African Community Secretariat. Currently, he is the founder and CEO of G-Optimized, a company focused on driving business growth and optimization.

Jona Owitti has over 36 years of hands-on experience in the areas of Information Security and Auditing; focusing primarily on information systems (IS) auditing; risk management; control; compliance, IT governance, assurance, and data privacy. During this period, Jona has performed, led, supervised, and managed several IS audit projects, and other information security-related professional assignments in over 30 countries across the globe: covering Africa, The Americas, Asia, Australia/Oceania, and Europe. The global, regional, and in-country information security related projects that he has handled include quality assurance reviews (assessments) and audits of major on-premise and cloud-based ERP systems/projects such as SAP, JDEdwards, and Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central; technical audits of IT Network Components, Operating Systems, and Database Systems, including general IT Project risk assessments. The above assignments, including attendance of professional courses, conferences, and meetings, have enabled Jona to gain extensive international professional and personal experience – hence, a remarkable exposure to various cultures, diversities, and traditions across the globe.

Jona is a former Regional IT Audit Manager (in charge of Africa, Middle East, and Pakistan Region) at Chevron (Caltex) Corporation; and a former civil/public servant in the Government of Kenya. In his work and professional life, Jona has received many awards and recognition for excellence, professionalism, and diligence. Jona Owitti is a Certified Information Systems Auditor (CISA), and a founder of ISACA Kenya Chapter. He holds a Master of Science degree in Computer Science from the University of Dundee, United Kingdom, and an honours Bachelor of Education (Science) degree from the University of Nairobi, Kenya.

Jona is married to Monica, and they are blessed with children.

Edward Wafula is a seasoned IT Security Specialist with over 20 years of experience in the IT Industry, with expertise in Information Systems Audit, Cyber Security, Risk Management, IT Project Management, and SAP GRC Access Control.
Capitalizing on his proven expertise and hands-on experience in executing security governance, risk assessments, compliance, conducting security audits, and assessing the effectiveness of controls, Edward has successfully provided enterprise IT projects, audit, and GRC consultancy services for reputable ICT, NGOs, and public organizations.
Edward is certified in SAP Governance, Risk and Compliance (GRC AC); Information Technology Infrastructure Library (ITIL) Framework; and, a Certified Information Systems Auditor (CISA); and Certified Project Management Professional (PMP). He also has a Master’s degree in Project Planning and Management from the University of Nairobi, and a BSc in Information Technology from JKUAT.
Edward believes that fighting disruptive forces such as technological advancements, globalization, socio-economic, political, and environmental changes can be futile but by implementing proper GRC strategies, corporations can embrace disruptions and adapt early to their benefit.
